About Goose
Gerame

“You think you’re better than me?!?”

Goose is a native of New Jersey with a rich sports history. He has been involved with sports since the time he could first hold a ball and continues to be today as an athlete, a spectator and, most of all, a critic. As a Yankee fan and a Bengal fan, has seen both sides of the spectator spectrum. Still, Goose has remained loyal to his teams throughout the years.

Shortly after earning his undergrad degree at West Virginia University, Goose decided to move west and test the Pacific waters.

Now, a resident of San Diego, Goose brings a much-needed East Coast edge to laid back Southern California. Tired of gossipy headlines and drama-filled sports news, Goose says its time to get real and take back what belongs to us, as fans. We want truth.  See him voice his opinion regularly on MG Sports Talk.

Boom.

About Cov

cov

Emerging from the primordial ooze of Rust Belt USA, Aaron Covey (aka Cov), was born in a place where high school football is king, Steubenville, OH, home of the Big Red. It was during his formative years in Steubenville that he discovered his love for watching, analyzing, betting on, and bitching about sports, football in particular.

After a brief stint at the University of Akron, he moved back to Steubenville in 2000 to try to find out what he wanted to do with himself. Finding nothing but crackheads and boredom, he picked himself up off the canvas in classic Rust Belt fashion like Kelly Pavlik in the second round of the first Jermain Taylor fight and moved to Morgantown in August 2001. There, much partying and degeneration ensued, classes were passed with a B average, and life-long friendships were formed.

After graduating in December 2003, Covey moved back to Steubenville to take a job briefly with a local newspaper and later with an international steel company, where he is now employed.

Covey is an avid fan of the following teams:
Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Pens
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
West Virginia Mountaineers
Steubenville Big Red
Green Bay Packers

He also is an avid boxing fan and enjoys the following boxers:
Kelly Pavlik
Bernard Hopkins
Manny Pacquiao
Sugar Shane Mosley
Antonio Margarito (even in light of the hand-wrap controversy)
Mike Tyson
George Foreman
Roy Jones Jr.

Cov brings a fresh heartland perspective to a sports scene often dominated by East Coast-West Coast banter. Feel free to shoot him an email i there anything you would like to see in upcoming installments of Cov’s Corner.
