Kobe and Shaq

Here is an update on the NBA carousel:

Shaq to Cavs
Sources report that the Cleveland Cavs and the Phoenix Suns have agreed in principle to swap Shaquille O’Neal for Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic, as well as the 46th pick in the 2009 NBA Draft and some cash. The deal should be finalized by end of day. Ooooo…Lebron James and Shaq on the same team = NBA Championship, right? Wrong.

Vince Carter to Magic
League sources report that the New Jersey Nets are trading swingman Vince Carter to the Orlando Magic for Rafer Alston, Tony Battie and Courtney Lee. Why didn’t the Nets trade the overpriced, overhyped and over emotional Carter years ago?!? I wish I had the answer. What I do know is that Vince Carter will never lead a team to a championship. Look what he’s done for the Nets… (cricket chirping). Good riddance. I can now go back to being an active Nets fan. Get the hell out of Jersey, you bum!

Rookie forward Ryan Anderson is also headed to Orlando in a separate deal. Why? Anybody?

It seems to me like the Nets are perfectly happy with being mediocre. Thats why they kept Carter for so long. Why wouldn’t they trade him someone they can build the team around? Maybe Devin Harris has already taken on that role. I don’t know. Atleast VC won’t be throwing up untimely brick 3’s 20 times a game anymore. Good luck with that, Magic. HA
