Kaka to Real Madrid

After much specualtion, AC Milan midfielder Kaka has left the Serie A to sign with Spanish power Real Madrid, La Liga confirmed on Tuesday morning. The deal will bring the Brazilian international to Bernabeu for 6 years at the cost of €65 million. England’s Chelsea were said to have made a bid for the 27 year old, but eventually lost out to Madrid and will have to look elsewhere for an added offensive boost. The Kaka addition is only the first in many moves guaranteed by new Madrid president Florentino Perez, who is making his second round at the helm in the Spanish capital. Others players said to be on his radar are Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo, Valencia’s David Villa and Liverpool’s Xabi Alonso among others. In fact, Perez’s most recent statement in regards to the Ronaldo move is that Real Madrid will do “everything possible” to sign this year’s best world player. All the while, current Madrid forward Ruud Van Nistelrooy awaits news about his future with the club. The Dutchman is seeing more competition for playing time as new players arrive in Madrid after undergoing knee surgery in November. Tottenham and Panathinaikos are in line to scoop up the 32 year old with Hotspur allegedly already making a bid.

Expect more blockbuster moves this summer with AC Milan’s Alexandre Pato now talking with Chelsea and the aforementioned anticipated grabs for Europe’s top players.
