This Saturday, February 21, get ready for a triple fight night. PPV boxing will be bringing you 3 exciting fights, all part of the same broadcast. At $44.95, this may be the best boxing value of the year.

The broadcast will start off  at Madison Square Garden for the undercard and the first of two main events and follow up with the headliner in Youngstown, OH.

At the Garden, NYC fan favorite John Duddy (25-0, 17 KOs) will take on fellow middleweight Matt Vanda (37-8, 21 KOs). Duddy has a huge following in NY and with an impressive win here, assuming Pavlik takes care of business, the two middleweights will likely meet in the near future. Cross your fingers. Following the Duddy - Vanda fight, Welterweight stud Miguel Cotto (32-1, 26 KOs) will fight Michael Jennings (32-1, 14 KOs) and will look to avenge his first ever professional loss, when Antonio Margarito knocked out the Puerto Rican in the 11th round several months ago. Then, put on your seat belts… from Youngstown, OH,  middleweight champ Kelly Pavlik (34-1, 30 KOs) will defend his WBO and WBC belts in front of his hometown crowd versus stingy veteran Marco Antonio Rubio (41-4-1, 36 KOs). “The Ghost” is also coming off his first career loss to crafty veteran Bernard Hopkins. The loss was fought at Hopkins’ light heavyweight weight class, therefore, Pavlik maintained his middleweight belts. Those belts will be on the line Saturday night.

Get ready for heavy hitting, toe-to-toe type action this Saturday. No boring fights here. Turn off the UFC all you trend-followers and watch some good old fashioned boxing for once. Its good for you.

One Response to “Pavlik To Defend Middleweight Title”

  1. This was a good PPV. Not GREAT, but solid. Trust me, I;ve ordered far worse PPVs for more money (see Jones-Calzaghe and the worst undercards in PPV history!)

Recap story will be sent tonight to appear in Cov’s Corner.
